How to stop judging you in 3 easy steps

Updated: Nov 8, 2021

Judgement is a bane in your life, when you allow it to rule your life. It’s easy to judge others but even easier to judge yourself.

But how does it serve you? Does judgement really help you live a happy fulfilled life? No, it doesn’t it has a habit, of making life painful.

When you spend time judging yourself you are saying to your soul, I don’t like you. I don’t like who you are or how you look, or what you do!

Judgement comes because of what you believe. Your beliefs are formed from the experiences you have had in life as a child which you gave a meaning to, based on what you had been told or experienced from loved ones and others.  Therefore how can you judge yourself, when it is based on false perceptions?

The following steps will help you begin to release the judgements you have about yourself, leaving you more capable of living life fully engaged, instead of expecting to be criticised and blamed by the critical voice in your head.  You know… that voice that spends all it time telling you, how useless you are, that you don’t know what you are doing, or who is going to believe you?

Step 1

It’s time to accept you are perfect as you are!

A big one I know, something hard to face, especially as the inner critic keeps saying you aren’t perfect, you are not pretty enough, not clever – in fact you are stupid, or who are you to speak up?

The only reason you don’t accept you are perfect as you are is because of what you have learned from others, who have told you off, or said you aren’t good enough, or who always made you feel inferior.

It’s time to realise that you were born of love and are perfect, whole and complete!  The Universe/God is love!

Step 2

Stop listening to your critic.

Each time your inner critic starts to speak, tell it you hear it but are not listening.  Let the negative thoughts and judgements go.  They can simply pass through, they don’t have to remain.

The more you acknowledge you don’t have to listen to what is being said the easier it becomes. Realise the voice is your ego wanting to keep you safe, but in keeping you safe, it is not allowing you to experience life fully.

There will be times when stepping outside your safety zone is scary, but the universe has your back.  When you listen to your inner wisdom, your intuition, you will find that you are an amazing being, able to achieve so much more than you have to date.

Step 3

Ask yourself “is this for my highest good?” Especially when your critical voice kicks off.

There is no need to judge or criticise yourself for trying and failing.  So what if it doesn’t work out you learn from the experience and know why it didn’t work out instead of assuming because of your inner critic who is highly judgemental of you tells you that you can’t do it.

Start practicing the 3 steps and discover how good it feels to be free of judgement!

With conscious awareness you can choose to take action and enjoy life or stand still and let judgement hold you back.
